Resistor colour code

First you must read this form the end where the rings are closest together, the distant ring is last.
The first color ring on the resistor is yellow, so you look down the chart to yellow and see that it equals 4, the second color is purple, look down the chart and find it equals 7. now the second to last ring is the multiplier which is how many zeros are after the number. Orange has three zeros. and the final ring is the tolerance or how accurate the resistance is. In this case its gold with a tolerance of 5% which means it could be + or - 5%.

ergonomics

I don't know anything about ergonomics, except how well chairs fit to the shape of your body, but have a look at the image, it says more than I could.

last week we did some experiments with electro motive force. We used a volt meter to see how much electricity was produced by various methods such as solar, electro magnetic and potatoes.
We also did a small study of types of EMF to power an island. I liked the one with a field of mirrors surrounding a pipe. The mirrors deflect sun rays at to the pipe and heat water inside which then turns a turbine.

Maffs

Missed last Monday completely. Went to Taupo and helped my mum move instead. Vectors are all good I remember most of what I need to solve the problem. not keeping up with Professional development thou. boring. Just bought a ruler so I can do my drawing assignments, if I do them is another story.

The week just gone at Uni was all good, got by without my own set of tools but I should get on to that. I thought What I'd learned of fifth form maths would carry me further through the course but now I am not so sure. Oh well, new stuff to learn. Having trouble with confidence. When I was at school I didn't really do assignments, Something else I have to work on to get through the year.
